Freefly represents the intersection of art and technology. Our team consists of industry leading specialists all focused on one task- inventing solutions to allow unrestricted camera movement. Freefly initially created the CineStar line of multi-rotor camera platforms, which allowed smooth, stable and dynamic low-altitude aerials. After years of research and development in camera stability, Freefly created the MOVI line of 3-axis digital stabilized camera gimbals. Our goal with the MOVI is to empower a new era of stabilized cinematography on a variety of platforms, from handheld to helicopter and everything in between.

The Changing Media Ecosystem
Though the transformation of the motion picture industry from a fully analog culture to a fully digital culture is nearly complete, our media ecosystem is still ever evolving.  It’s not enough to merely let go of legacy techniques; successful content creators are those who embrace change and embrace the uncomfortable barrage of new information, tools, and processes.  Michael Cioni, leader of the bi-coastal post house Light Iron, explores the dynamic changes in entertainment today – from the collapse of the VFX sector, to the rise of Netflix and UHD, to 4K and beyond – and how this evolution enhances the art of visual storytelling.
