ACT Academy invites you to get hands-on with the grandMA3 console! This session will offer an overview of the grandMA3 hardware and software capabilities, how they are used in various entertainment scenarios, as well as the core concepts behind controlling today's most complex and capable lighting fixtures. Focused on how to get from your first showfile to your first live playback, this session breaks down the grandMA3 platform into approachable pieces for new learners as well as seasoned lighting professionals.

We're celebrating outstanding women and gender non-conforming cinematographers, gaffers, and camera operators. Prizes are awarded to the top 4 winners, the Emerging Filmmaker, and 10 semi-finalists at this exciting awards ceremony. We'll also be paying tribute to Susan Lewis - our 2024 ICON - for her groundbreaking achievements in public relations, communications, and community building.

Panasonic LUMIX has announced the GH7, a Micro Four Thirds hybrid mirrorless camera designed for professional photographers and videographers. The GH7 offers advanced video capabilities, including internal ProRes RAW and ARRI LogC3 recording, ensuring maximum sensor potential and high dynamic range. LUMIX Business Development Manager Mathew Frazer will present the GH7's technical details, emphasizing its compatibility with professional production and post-production workflows.

This sixth installment of the HBO Camera Assessment Series (CAS) is a unique project that seeks to create a rich, expansive image library for the Warner Brothers Discovery family. CAS 2023 features 35mm film, Alexa Mini, Venice 2, V-Raptor, Ursa 12k, and Alexa 35 in environments stressed with colors, patterns, skin tones, dynamic range, image elasticity, mixed color, and available light. Our goal is not to determine the “best” camera, but the appropriate one for each scenario.

Filmmaker and LUMIX Ambassador Ben Staley used the new Panasonic LUMIX GH7 for his short film “The Cookie Jar.” Discover how Staley, with Director of Photography Joseph Seif and colorist Greg White, achieved cinematic quality by recording in ARRI LogC3, using the ARRI ALEXA Mini LF as the A camera and the Micro Four Thirds GH7 as the B and crash camera. Their use of unique lenses and innovative tools added to the GH7's professional filmmaking capabilities.
